About

Practised for more than 2,000 years, the Six Healing Sounds (Ma Li Tang lineage) combines sound, gentle movement and focused intention.

Traditionally, it is practised to stimulate the twelve organ meridians, encourage the smooth flow of Qi, and help clear stagnant energy throughout the meridian system.

Each of the six healing sounds is associated with one of the body's major organs—the Liver, Heart, Spleen, Lungs, Kidneys, and Triple Heater (San Jiao).

Through mindful breathing, movement and sound, the practice is traditionally believed to help release physical tension, balance the emotions associated with each organ, and harmonise the mind, body and spirit.

Lineage

Churn Chi is certified to teach Liu Zi Jue (Six Healing Sounds Qigong 六字訣) through in-person training with Simon Blow, an internationally recognised Qigong master, author, and teacher of Traditional Chinese Medical Qigong.

Simon Blow is the author of Nurturing Life Qigong (2017), which explores the theory and practice of the Six Healing Sounds. He also serves as a Deputy Secretary of the World Academic Society of Medical Qigong in Beijing, reflecting his longstanding contribution to the preservation and teaching of Medical Qigong.

Simon Blow learned this system directly from Grand master Jack Lim, who in turn was a direct student of Ma Litang (马礼堂), one of China's most respected Medical Qigong masters. Grand Master Ma devoted his life to preserving and developing traditional Chinese health cultivation practices, including Liu Zi Jue, and his teachings continue to influence Medical Qigong practitioners around the world.

Through this lineage, Churn Chi teaches Liu Zi Jue with respect for its traditional roots while making the practice accessible, safe, and beneficial for modern students.
