Lineage
Grandmaster Zhong Yunlong
钟云龙道长
Grandmaster Zhong Yunlong is a Daoist priest of Purple Cloud Temple (紫霄宫) in the Wudang Mountains, China, and a 14th-generation lineage holder of the Wudang San Feng Pai (武当三丰派).
Within this tradition, the Sitting Ba Duan Jin (武当坐式八段锦) is taught as a Daoist Life-Nurturing Qigong practice, combining seated movement, breath regulation, meditation and internal cultivation. According to Grandmaster Zhong's teaching, the practice has roots extending back more than 2,000 years.
Churn Chi had the opportunity to meet Grandmaster Zhong Yunlong personally in China, at Wudang, providing a direct connection to the living tradition from which this practice originates.
Master Simon Blow
Master Simon Blow studied Wudang Qigong and internal cultivation with Grandmaster Zhong Yunlong and has played an important role in bringing these practices to students outside China.
He is also the author of Absorbing the Essence, a book exploring the principles and practices of Sitting Ba Duan Jin (Life-Nurturing Qigong) and Wudang Longevity Qigong, drawing on the traditional Daoist approach to health, longevity and internal cultivation.
Through his study with Grandmaster Zhong Yunlong, Simon Blow has transmitted this traditional practice to his students, including Churn Chi.
Churn Chi
Churn Chi learned Wudang Sitting Ba Duan Jin / Life-Nurturing Qigong directly from Master Simon Blow.
Her connection with the tradition extends beyond her formal training, having travelled to China and personally met Grandmaster Zhong Yunlong at Wudang.
She now shares this traditional Daoist practice with her students as part of her teaching of Traditional and Medical Qigong.
